If you want money in your pocket... And a top hat on your head, A hot meal on your table... And a blanket on your bed, Well today is grey skies... Tomorrow is tears... You'll have to wait til yesterday is here. Well I'm going to New York City... And I'm leaving on a train, And if you want to stay behind... Wait til I come back again, Well today is grey skies... Tomorrow is tears, You'll have to wait til yesterday is here.
The composition is wonderful - I love the stoic pose, the stiffness of the proud body echoing the upright buildings in the background.
I love the way he looks out of frame drawing your eye up and out into the rest of the photo along the brim of the hat, into the city which punches the eye upwards into the storm-like clouds above. The movement in the piece continues with the scarf edging slightly to the left (when everything else is moving right), as if it's about to be whipped out by a strong gust of wind.
Love it!
The feeling of motion, and the elements is amazing, it almost feels like any moment it's about to rain.
Really nice use of your signature (almost inperceptible) hint of colour again - I much prefer your photos where the colour touches are really subtle.
Aww thanx Baron. I actually worked on this at the office and the monitor sucks so it's not exactly how I wanted it. Maybe a few more subtle splashes of color. And yeah, Paul's a great guy to photograph. It's his outfit, his rooftop, his makeup...all I did was show up with the camera. I'd kill for a few more people like that to photograph!
